Outlook 07, can't highlight or copy text, reading pane of email

As per above:
When reading email in the reading pane: the cursor becomes a "hand"
like in an adobe document.
It won't let me highlight or copy text in anything in the reading
pane.

In order to copy anything in an email, I have to hit reply or forward,
then my cursor becomes the straight vertical line and I can highlight
and copy from it. This started about 3 or 4 months ago, and I can't
find the setting to change it.

Its very annoying and time consuming...

Any ideas?

I suggest you post in microsoft.public.outlook ... this won't be anything in
Exchange. Good luck.

Above the scroll-bar there is a hand - click on it to switch modes.
