Thread: Access Outlook Contact Groups with Automation?

Default Access Outlook Contact Groups with Automation?

    Hi

Outlook 2007 allows you to organize your contacts into groups (which are independent of folders and categories).

Is there any way to programatically access the group information for a contact?

    TIA

Do you mean distribution lists? Contacts don't store distribution list
membership information. That info is only in the DLs themselves.

    Hi Sue,

Perhaps you missed that "feature" in Outlook 2007 like me ;-)

In Outlook 2007 select the Contacts Display panel. Below the "Current View" box is "Add New Group", which basically creates a new header into which you can drop your contacts folders...

(Tried to attach a screenshot but the forum limit of 1KB of attachments prevented that).

    TIA

That's called a navigation pane group. It's not specific to contacts.

What is it that you want to do with it?
